Way back in September, 2015 Ken and I flew to England to find a place to live for Ken’s new position in the company. We stumbled across a quilt shop in Crediton called MylaFabric . Friendly owner! Check it out. I bought some fat meters and the cutest kit to make knickers to give to my daughter. The kit was made in the UK by Flo-Jo Boutique. It’s a shop in Bristol that is about an hour train ride. I’m a bit nervous to do that trip on my own, but I will. I’ve emailed the ladies that have created the kit and they responded very kindly. I would love to bring some home to sell in the shop!
Well, the knicker kit never made it to my Natalie. It was packed in our container to be shipped to the UK. Since it made it across the pound twice now, instead of giving the kit to her, I decided to make them. It could be my show and tell for the sewing group that meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 9:00 am at our new location on Davis Street. I would like to promote a couple of shops here in the UK. Maybe make something I’ve never made. What a win-win situation!
All of that said…
Martin Luther King day is on the 18th of January. The Little Quilt Shop has joined the Pantie Raid along with other quilt shops in the US. To help our community, we will be collecting new ladies panties of any size for a women’s shelter. It is one way for us to give back. You don’t have to make your own panties (knickers) as I have. You can purchase them from any store.
From the 15th to the 23rd of January bring in the panties and pick out a fat quarter as a thank you from us. Simple as that.
Blessings & Cheers
